The Alesis Ampdock at the Academy of Sound is a ground-breaking iPad and iPad 2 interface for guitarists featuring 1/4 inch jack instrument input and output, live controls to switch software settings and control parameters instantly, and a dedcated pedal-board controller so you can make full use of the powerful, versatile guitar processing capabilities of the i-Pad and all of the great music apps available (i.e. GarageBand, AmpliTube, JamUp, etc.).

Whether you are in the studio or on stage, using an iPad in your setup has long been an interesting concept, but only now is it a serious reality. Finding the sound in your head has never been easier.

With the Ampdock you get professional live control of effects and processors. The interface itself features assignable faders, a guitar input, additional XLR/Jack combo input (switchable mic/line plus phantom power), MIDI in/out, Mono/Stereo master out (with ground lift), Mono/Stereo aux out (direct off/on/guitar switch - can be used to plug through to your amp) and USB. The footwitch features a control pedal (expression/wah etc.), bypass switch, FX on/off switch, program up switch, and program down switch. For stage use you can have the Alesis Ampdock plugged straight into the PA, use it as your FX processor, or even use it as part of your wider FX setup. MIDI input/output means you can even control the most complex external FX setups with MIDI playback straight from the iPad. If you want to use it with an amp the kickstand lets you seat your Ampdock above the handle on top of your amp, or mount it to a mic stand with a separately available Alesis Module Mount.

Not limited to live, you can both record directly to the iPad (which has multi-track recording capabilities when used with a compatible app) and with the Ampdock you can plug the stereo guitar signal (post iPad) straight into the desk of a studio too. MIDI in lets you record keys and digital drums with your iPad too, the mic in with phantom power lets you record with condenser mics, and of course you can plug in the audio jack output of any instrument or device. You can literally use your iPad as a portable studio.
